Amber Maynard, the first John Yancy Memorial
Scholarship Continuing Education Grant recipient,
in July attended her "White Coat Ceremony".
The white coat ceremony is a wonderful and
meaningful tradition in which colleges and
universities welcome 1st-year graduate students
as colleagues dedicated to patient care. During
this event, pharmacy alumni presented entering
graduate students with a white coat, the symbol
of clinical service and care. The students
take the coat and a pledge of professionalism.
The first annual $1000 John Yancy Memorial
Scholarships Continuing Education Grant
was awarded to Amber Maynard last fall.
She utilized the award funds to continue
her master's course work while awaiting
acceptance to: A.T. Still University, Physician
Assistant program in Mesa, AZ. Amber is
a 2001 Jupiter Community High School graduate
and received a Bachelor of Health Science
Degree, Cum Laude, from the University of
Florida.
