The $1000 John Yancy Memorial Scholarship's Continuing Education Grant was awarded to Summer Jean Maynard. Summer Jean is a 2004 Jupiter High School graduate and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice /Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from Troy University in Alabama. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Criminal Justice at Troy. Some of the criteria for this award includes graduating from Jupiter High School, maintaining a volunteer log, and submitting a resume. Also required, a 1000 word essay written to a brother or sister (imaginary or real). The thesis of this essay; "negative costs", both present and future, of drug use during college.
