The competition was tough. Terry Mitchell was awarded the fourth annual $3,000.00 John Yancy Memorial Scholarship's Senior Award 2008-2009 recipient.

Terry will be attending Florida Gulf Coast University this fall. Terry played four years of football at Jupiter Community High School while logging more than 150 community service hours.

The criteria for this award is: a graduating senior of Jupiter Community High School, a grade point average, volunteer hours and 4 years of participation in the same activity; athletics, drama or art. John Yancy Memorial Scholarships are funded by donations and at drug and alcohol free events as Memorial Scholarships' Bowling for Scholars; End of the Year Bowling Bash at Jupiter Lanes. Celine Dion was there with her family lending her support. We look forward to Celine's further support next fall.
